General Pickup Rules

1. Drivers under 18 must have parental consent and sign waiver.

2. Single driver no passengers during pull.

3. All stock vehicles must be licensed and insured.

4. All vehicles must be inspected by Tech Crew to be able to pull.

5. Any parts lost on the track will result in a disqualification.

6. Vehicle must stop immediately upon sight of Red Flag Signal from the Judge.

7. Use of Alcohol before or during your pull will result in disqualification.

8.  All decisions are final.

9. Judges have the right to accept, reject or DQ the vehicle at anytime during the contest if it is being operated unsafely or the rules are not being followed.

10. PVTP are not responsible for any accidents or theft occurring at a pull.

11. All pickups must be inspected before they are pulled for the first time that year and a tech sticker will be placed on the window. If you make a change to your pickup then it has to be inspected again before it’s allowed to pull at the next pull. If you don’t get it inspected again after those changes you WILL lose all your points up to date and you will be DQ for that day!!!! It is up to you to contact a tech member to get it inspected!!

12. If there is a problem with it meeting the rules you will be allowed to pull that day only, but it has to be corrected before the next pull.

Stock & Modified Light Classes

                               1. 4WD Gas 5500lb small block and big block class

                               2. 4WD Gas 6000lb small block and big block class

                               3. 4WD Gas 6500lb small block and big block class

                            

Any stock pickup can pull in the modified class if you choose to if they meet the safety requirements of the modified class.

Small block pickups may pull with the big blocks pickup class if they choose.

Stock Class

VEHICLE MUST BE STREET LEGAL

​

1. BODY: Must be OEM truck body. Including a full box or flatbed. Must have OEM Chassis. No lengthening or shortening. No back halves, Tube Chassis, etc.

​

2. INTERIOR: Must be complete and include two front seats, must have OEM or improved restraint system which must be worn during staging and when hooked to the sled. Full glass and functional windows are required. All factory headlights and taillights must be functional.

​

3. ENGINE: Blocks and Heads must be from a factory one ton or smaller pick up. Must be in factory location. Aftermarket intakes dual plane only no air gaps, cams(hydraulic lifters only), and single carburetor allowed. No stoker kits. This is a stock class, be honest!

​

4. TRANMISSION: OEM transmissions and transfer case are required. Must be from a one ton Chassis or smaller. Stall converters or dual disc clutch not allowed. All trucks must be in neutral or park when hooking to the sled. Automatic vehicles must be equipped with neutral safety switch that is operational.

​

5. SUPENSION: Axles must have been a factory option on a one ton or smaller pickup. There must be at least one shock per tire. Suspension blocks are allowed. Traction bars are permitted. They must be a bolt on. (brackets can be welded to the frame and or axle).

​

6. TIRES: Must be DOT approved. No cut tires, studs, chains, etc.

​

7. EXHAUST: Stock manafolds or headers and a full exhaust to a point that is 6 inches behind passenger compartment or to rear axle.

​

8. HITCH: It can be no higher than 26 inches from the ground to hook point. Must be rear bumper or receiver type hitch bolted solid or welded within the last 12 inches of OEM frame. Hitch must protrude past rear of the bumper. Must have a straight clevis bolted to the hitch or a d-ring with a 3" hole with a 1" material thickness.

9. FUEL SYSTEM: (Gas Engines) Factory fuel tank must be retained. Can be relocated if factory cab mounted. No racing cells allowed. 91 octane limit or LP only. Must be naturally aspirated. No race fuel!!! Be honest here guys! It’s a stock Class!

​

10. WEIGHTS: Weights must be secured in the bed of the truck only. No hanging weights or weights in the cab.

Light Modified Gas

Same as stock rules except for the following:

(does not have to be street Legal)

​

1. ENGINE: Stoker kits ok.

​

2. INTERIOR: Must have OEM or improved restraint system and must be worn in staging and when hooked to the sled. Does not have to have complete interior. Full glass and functional windows are required. All street legal lights must be operational.

​

3. FUEL SYSTEM: (GAS Engines) Race fuels allowed. No Nitrous. Light fuel cells allowed in the box.

​

4. SUSPENSION: Suspension Blocking or Bolt on Suspension Components (IE. Helper Springs, Coil over shocks, or Air bags) are allowed. Welded solid allowed.

​

5. TIRES: Off road tires allowed. 35 inch maximum height, Tread width not to exceed 18 inches. No studs or chains.

​

6. EXHAUST: Open Headers allowed.

​

7. SAFTY REQUIRMENTS:

           -Drive shaft loops are required. Must be made of at least 1/4 inch thick steel or 3/8 inch aluminum. Should be placed in a location that will safely catch a broken driveshaft that is pulling in a forward direction.

           -Steel bell housing must be used on a manual trans or an approved scatter safety blanket must be used on an automatic trans.

           -Steel flywheels are highly recommended.

            -If you remote mount the battery in the box you must have a remote battery shut off and it should be located behind the cab on the driver's side or on the box, mounted so it is accessible from the outside.

            -A 2 LB DOT approved fire extinguisher is required and should be mounted inside the cab and be accessible from the driver's seat.

8. WEIGHTS:

                      Hanging weights are permitted.

                      Must not extend further than 60 inches from the center of the front axle.                       Must be securely attached.

                      Any weights falling from the truck will result in a DQ.
